Oh, wow. I am writing down your exercises to do with my characters this week. Love them! (Christina linked your blog, and I am so glad!) Thanks for the awesome exercises!
This morning! The mom in my story has had it up to her eyeballs and I let her GO! Then I found your prompt and went back to polish that anger a bit more.
My character gets angry a lot! She really needs to attend an anger management class. :-)
ReplyDeleteI had my character yell out in frustration. It was actually kind fun!

I need to make a little notebook of all these exercises. No scratch that, I have your blog! Which just won an award over at my blog!
ReplyDeleteI like it when this happens. I notice that I get angered and excited as well, because my typing speeds up.

ReplyDeleteChristina, I've found that my characters get angry a lot more than I do. Maybe it's our way of releasing some of our pent-up anger?
ReplyDeleteAubrie, I'm sure it was fun for your character too! We all need a release once in a while.
Kelly, I'm so glad these are helpful. Happy writing!
Thanks so much for the award, Lydia!
Medeia, I definitely live out my characters' emotions along with them too. Some might call us crazy, but we know we're just creative. :-)
Lee, I'm glad this was so timely!
I like it when my character gets mad because he can be such a sissy. :) Fun idea!
ReplyDeleteThe MC in my new WIP loses it often. It's great to explore that more with her.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the suggestion!
