Pets

For five minutes, write about a pet your character had or has. How does s/he feel about this creature? Has it played an important role in your character's life?

    This is a great prompt, too many times I read novels where no one has a pet and it seems unrealistic.

    Charmaine, that's a good point. You don't see that many pets in fiction, and when you do see them, they often meet terrible ends! *shudder*

    I've just realized something. I've never written a story where the mc has a pet. Oh, wait! That's not entirely true. I have an outline for one with a cat. But it's more like the sister's pet cat. And it dies. (I do love cats, though.)
