Avoided Places

Most of us have places we don't like to go. For five minutes, write about a place your character tries to avoid and why s/he stays away from it.

    I actually just did this in my work-in-progress. It lent the novel interesting tension.

    Hi Medeia! That's funny that you used a similar approach in your WIP. It really tells you a lot about a character to think about the places they try to avoid. Happy writing!

    My mc just explained to another character why she doesn't swim in the lake - turtles.
