For five minutes, write about your character's sense of touch. What kinds of textures does s/he find soothing or pleasant? What kinds of textures does s/he try to avoid? Are there textures that s/he associates with certain memories?
Beth, I'm the same way. I think part of it is that I'm not a very tactile person, so I totally forget about the character's sense of touch. Happy writing!
This is a sense that I need to write more about! I always use lokk and sometimes smell, but touch is a great way to add to the story!
ReplyDeleteAubrie, I always overlook sense of touch in my writing. That's why I decided to post about it this week. Happy writing!
ReplyDeleteOMG, I so need this. I ALWAYS overlook this in writing. I need to work so much harder on including sensory description.
